| So I found that new pho place that's near Noodelicious, Zen Vietnamese Cuisine. It's just a bit further up in that arcade. The place is tiny, but they seem to have a decent selection of viet stuff. The serving sizes for the pho are quite small (their 'large' is typical of a small sized serving at Pho Minh or Pho Thanh). And the soup is kinda bland in comparison as well, but the serving style is a bit more authentic in that the bean sprouts and garnishes are on a separate dish (but again, there's very little of it and my plate was bereft of coriander).

| So...went out for a big group-ish event yesterday for the first time in a while (I think it's been a while, I can't really tell, everything is just a kind of haze between sitting at work, sitting at home, and then passing out somewhere in between these days) (I think I just said between twice). But yeah, it was fun and nice to be outside and loud and laughing (rather than inside and loud and laughing).

*edit* I was actually talking about my new chair at work. We recently annexed the business next door to us and took their office space, and they had left all their old furniture in their for us. I called dibs on one of the comfy chairs (much like the one I have at home, except it has better lumbar support). Urm...haven't been up to much, most of my life goes in the simple cycle of work, Irene, WoW, work, Irene, WoW, etc etc, and sleep gets stuffed in between those activities wherever possible.
Started trying to play badminton again, the operative word being trying. But it's a small step away from my sharp decline into diabetes and early death (drinking coke at work can't help either *waves at Vivienne*).

| I'm still riding my high from yesterday, so I'll likely be very pretentious or something =P
So yesterday, was the day of our mEga|SA pitch presentations. Our group was second to deliver their presentations (something I was fairly happy about, since I knew at least two of the other groups had really awesome presentations, so I didn't want to follow after them). When me and Irene went up to do the presentation, we just kinda clicked, and everything kinda worked itself out, Irene remembered what to say with absolute confidence, I slowed down to an audible rate of speech etc etc. And at the end of it, there was question time from the panel, and straight away one of the panel members just went "That was fantastic, I'll be eager to speak to you later about your idea." So that was a HUGE shock to all of us (since at the practice pitch two weeks beforehand, we got kinda grilled for having a shitty presentation XD).
We were just happy they liked our presentation, but then, after all of that, they announced the peer assessed award (earlier, all the groups had to give a first and second vote for other groups based on their commitment, enthusiasm, commercial viability etc), and when they announced that we won, everyone in our group just kinda went "huh?!? O_oa". So that was really awesome =D
And a bunch of other things have been going really well for me recently as well. Been getting into interviews for some jobs (not doing very well in those interviews, but it's a feat for me to even get asked to an interview, hehe). Ohhh, and I solved a major problem with my research project that's been plaguing me for a few months, but that's worked out now, so I'm at Mawson Lakes trying to finish off the coding...oh god, I'm at Mawson on a Saturday morning...okay, less happy now T_T | | comments: 5 comments or Leave a comment |
| At uni, don't wanna do work...posting...
So meanwhile, I had arranged a meeting with my client supervisor for my project this morning at 9, I rock up on time, and he wasn't there yet...I waited around, and about half an hour later, he emails me asking if we had a meeting...T_T
When I do get there, I find out that the documents that he was meant to have completed for me today were at home still...it's like working with a high school student or something XD
